DS Ventures' Marc Annotti with revised plan for former St. Luke Hospital property.
A meeting Wednesday night called by the developer of the former St. Luke Hospital property to share its revised plans with nearby residents became confrontational when Vice Mayor Steve Haderlein called DS Ventures' actions "inexcusable" and "disrespectful."

Nearly 70 residents filled the St. Luke chapel to hear DS Ventures' spokesman Nat Read present revisions to the developer's plans for the property made as the result of neighborhood input from an earlier February 6 meeting.

Haderlein told the crowd that DS Ventures' "lack of notification of the meeting" raised his concerns that the "that the developer is deliberately trying to limit community participation."

Earlier, Haderlein told Pasadena Now that the developer is scheduled to present plans to Pasadena city staff as soon as next Tuesday.

And from Fred Ortega's blog the word that neighbors were notified but not Airheaderlein.

St. Luke development meeting tonight
Posted by Fred Ortega at 11:09 AM

Councilman Steve Haderlein is trying to get the word out about tonight's meeting by Beverly Hills developer DS Ventures, which will feature a discussion of future plans for the former St. Luke Medical Center campus.

Haderlein said he only found out about the meeting after receiving an e-mail from a resident. The developer has apparently advertised the gathering by distributing door hangers among neighboring residences.

"Due to the significance of the project, the Vice Mayor encourages all interested in the developer’s plans to attend the meeting this Wednesday evening," wrote Haderlein's field representative, Rhonda Stone, in an e-mail.

So I gotta wonder: Is Haderlein pissed because neighbors didn't get notified or because Nat Read didn't invite him? How lame is the 4th District duck. anyway when developers who are gonna need his vote down the road dis him like that?

Only some of the neighbors were notified as in those in a 500-foot radius within the site.

Haderlein was acting with the will of the people which is why he received three ovations at the meeting which ended when people eventually just said we don't believe you. Notify us properly when you have plans we can understand.
