Where has the most feared man in Pasadena and oft-recipient of drunk dials from yours truly, Martin Truitt, been hiding out lately? Is it just me or did he fall off the radar after Measure D passed?
Some of us are just wondering where he is and what he's been up to.
Rumors indicate he's been hanging out on the beach in Fiji, drinking non-alcoholic drinks out of coconuts with native girls.
I don't think that's quite true.
TOP TEN THINGS MARTIN TRUITT HAS BEEN UP TO LATELY
10. "Police Academy" movie marathon
9. Creating a device to block the sun in Pasadena. (Oh, wait, that's Top Ten Things C. Montgomery Burns Has Been Up To Lately)
8. Amorous webcam encounters with Virginia Hoge
7. Building a time machine to go back in time to before Measure D passed
6. Working on getting the R. in Martin R. Truitt changed from Ronald to Rove
5. Leaving flaming bags of dog poop on Larry Wilson's doorstep
4. Playing World of Warcraft with Michael Strowbridge

Truitt's licking his woulds after losing a sure winner: the Anti Measure D campaign.
How hard is it to get people to vote against a tax? Especially when you've got Dick Armey's right-wingers flinging money at your campaign?
Mike
Actually, this type of measure was on the ballot in a number of cities, and none of them lost. Pasadena's won by the SMALLEST margin victory of any other city, which means Truitt's campaign was most effective. It was a very high turn out election. Why did people support taxes generally all over the state this time around? It would be an interesting study but no reflection on Truitt, IMHO.
Martin isn't licking his wounds. James Carville, Karl Rove and Dick Morris have lost battles and have come back to win the war. I guess my answer to a pompous arrogant moron like "sharkey mike" is, I would much rather have Martin Truitt on my side than against me. I have every reason to believe that he will be a "Major" factor in the political elections in 2011.
Pasadena was the only city with any opposition at all. And the only one where Washington-based Republican PAC money to fund a campaign.
How hard is it to get people to vote against a tax? Really hard when you try to argue something they don't care about.
Is Wayne Lusvardi going to discount the arguments of these amonymice because they don't say who they are, or is that only reserved for people who disagree with him, Truitt and Rene Amy, our three political stooges?
Mike
Mike "the ACT Shark" really doesn't get it. He must be having nightmares about Martin Truitt which possesses him to continue this personal diatribe against Truitt. The REAL three stooges of Pasadena politics are:
1. Fred "Cash" Register
2. Jon "Vermin" Fuhrman
3. Parke "Red" Skelton
Let's look at the Dems on council. Madison and Robinson got money from everywhere and can't seem to figure out how to report it. Madison and Robinson are both lazy and arrogant. No problem with Reps like Haderlein, Masuda or Salzer. The latter two lost by 100-120 votes but could have won. No reporting problems there. The limosine liberals always seem to think that their sh_t don't stink. As that guy before me said I would rather have Truitt with me than against me.
That last post looks suspiciously like what Rene Amy posts on his listserve.

Dormitas says: ENOUGH OF THIS FOOLISHNESS! No more Truitt's an asshole or Truitt's a saint posts on this string.
If you've got info to impart, I'll let it pass, but debating who's the real 3 Stooges of Pasadena politics is wasted here and will be deleted.
The 3 Stooges of Pasadena politics. I think I'm gonna ask for nominations from the floor in a separate string.
Oz has spoken!
D.
It might be far out there...he could be working - it is tax season. He has a family, small children.
Not everything is about politics.
Oh wonderful... it's an AP top ten list about Martin Truitt (not exactly serious stuff) and you're taking a stand and limiting comments about the guy. Do you read your own blog? The wiz' sure picks funny things to put his foot down about. Heaven forbid a couple of not-so-anonymous people taking themselves too seriously and thinking themselves way too important go back and forth about THE SUBJECT OF THE ORIGINAL POST.
Eric makes a good point. It is silly on a blog full of my grievances to cut off nasty-ness about somebody else.
And the Oz reference was a reaction to my ten year old's favorite movie. And here I thought I was being clever self-referencing that "man behind the curtain." You know the guy who's all bluster and show with no substance anywhere.
I cut it off because I wasn't wanting to rehash the rehash of the Measure D fight between the anonymice and Mike with nothing to gain and Truitt being targeted for venomous posts for doing nothing but keeping quiet, or keeping busy. At some point his kids'll Google him and this stuff will come up.
D.
I have always known Martin Truitt to be fiercely loyal, hard working, a great father to his kids and incredibly smart. In campaigns, you win some and you lose some. His team took on Pasadena's powerful political machine and almost won. I am proud of Martin's effort. I'll call the last campaign of his a Set Back to a Set Up for a Come Back.
I wasn't making a slight at Martin with that list, I hope people don't think that.
Martin even saw this list and had a good laugh.
He was not playing World of Warcraft with me. I find that to be a very offensive comment. We were playing Starcraft.
