Council Blow by Blow for 12-8-08

OK.

Another yawner. Not a lot on the agenda. Historic building on Lake Ave., the health clinic in east Pas, local politicos gonna haveta post contributors online.

Wake me when it's over.

They're all there, but Robinson's calling it in. Guess she's getting that wax from somebody besides big Steve.
Haderlein gets a coupla his students to lead the pledge.
Council pals get pats on the head for recycling. Somebody gets one for recycling plastic bags that're gonna get banned pretty soon. Does she haveta give back the award then? They're gonna retire in honor of Vernon Orr the dad of the B2 bomber. Anybody else notice the one flyin' over yesterday?

PUBLIC COMMENT: The Falun Gongers are back. Scientologists move over these people are still hasslin' Pasadena over the Beijing gloat, er float in last year's parade. And they're puttin' on a show in January for Chinese New Year.

CONSENT CALENDAR: They're askin' for new money for plants in the Arroyo. Got any money so my neighbors can get jobs? They're givin' some execs a raise, but I can't really tell how much. McAustin doesn't object but wants CM Beck to explain it even though he doesn't really say who's gettin' raises or how much they're gettin'. He says these are people who get raises based on what the managers got before. Haderlein asks about bicycles so he sounds enviro-heroic. Maggie says "Me too!" They are gettin' new radios for the PD, which kinda makes sense we'd want them to be able to talk to our own Fire Dept. and other police type persons. Tyler seems all over this but I'm not sure if there's a problem. They're gonna spend almost $8 million for radios. Police radio guy says hte need it to talk with the Fire Dept. and other PDs. I do gotta wonder how PPD and PFD ever got started with systems that don't work together. And what about using cell phones and saving $8 million of my bucks? Burl Ives lookin' tech guy 'splains it all Loocy, but I'm still wondering about someMcAustin asks about Motorola's bond ratings hitting bottom. Good point, Maggie M!

HISTORIC BUILDING LANDMARK: It's that building across Washington from the Food 4 Less on the corner. Cool old building and the owner likes it so. Save away folks.

SPEED LIMIT CHANGES: Transportation guy Radar O'Reilly's dad says they're keeping most the same and putting stuff in to catch speeders and make people slow down. They're good with all this.

CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS ONLINE: Run for cover all you donors, they're putting your info online so there's no hiding that you gave the District 6 Surrender Monkey money after he spiked the Rose Bowl. They're good with this.

URGENT CARE CENTER: Haderlein's outta this one 'cause Mrs. H. works for Huntington. Lucky dude goin' home early and avoidin' Fritz Pukelicker. Staff blonde puts on the full court press makin' the case for puttin' it in East Pas. They looked at other places but found they all suck for one reason or another and they won't own the building at the end of 5 years. City building at Del Mar is cheaper and would city would own it forever, not be a renter.
PUBLIC COMMENTERS: Huntington Hospital Board person loves this. Council wants to know how many people using it will be from Pasadena. The complainers didn't show up. Gordo asks about it, but they got notice and decided not to come and complain. Lawsuits here we come.
Council's going for it this time. This time Bogus Bill's all over lovin' this one. Holden says Bogaard oughta take credit for makin' it all come together and make it happen.

They're done by 9:15 and I'm gonna turn on Law and Order and hope they bring back new episodes of Weeds pretty damn quick.

I guess that our stellar councilmember, Jacque Robinson missed another council meeting. Was this the 10th in a row that she has missed? We supported her, Mayor Bogaard and Victor Gordo supported her and she rewards us by becoming the most inept representative in the last 35 years. What a disappointment for the community.

Is Jacqe Robinson black?

It shouldn't matter what nationality Jackie is. It is quite obvious to all that she is way over her head in this position. The talk on the street is that she is derelict in her commitment to the community and lacking in the experience needed to work with the mayor, council and staff on city agendas. It has nothing to do with age, it's about commitment and having a vision for the district. It just isn't there.

All posts from MIchael Nagami should be deleted. If he's not bashing AP he's bashing someone else. Obviously the guy is a fake that needs attention. Ignoring/deleting will be useful.

As for JR - I voted for her because I wanted change and I thought that with her youth and ideas she would make a change.

I heard her speak at a meeting and I was astounded at her lack of knowledge, her lack of presence and in general her lack of interest period.

I have heard rumors that she is ill. If that is the case she should either step down or be forthcoming in letting people know why she is not at the meetings.

NW Pasadena has had shooting lately and of course PSN pretends that there isn't a gang issue nor a drug issue nor racial tensions.

Who better than JR to bring these issues to the forefront at a City Council meeting?

Just a disappointment all around - a major disappointement. Get Salzer in NOW>>>>>>
