Pasadena Mayor Contemplates Resignation

DATELINE PASADENA: Mayor Bill Bogaard today confirmed that he is considering resigning as mayor of Pasadena. Rumors began to circulate after Bogaard was seen perusing Monster.com for employment as an Abraham Lincoln impersonator. Anonymous reports also claimed Bogaard was seen around Pasadena wearing a stovepipe hat.

City spokeswoman Ivy Lyon confirmed that the mayor has discussed alternative careers. "It is well known that the mayor of Pasadena is a renaissance man with myriad interests in things intellectual, mundane, artistic and sordid," Lyon said in a prepared statement. "If the mayor chooses to abdicate his role as Pasadena's political leader and pursue his muse, who are we to object?"

There have been numerous reports of sightings of Bogaard impersonating characters from the entertainment world. It was recently reported that he stepped in to stop an altercation in front of the Mann Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard. "His muscles were all ripply," said Tinker Bell impersonator and eyewitness Bitsy Berserko. "He was real cute with the pointy ears and cape, too."

"It's not a big stretch to go from the caped crusader to the Great Emancipator," said Lyons. "Both liked dark clothes and underdogs."

Bogaard could not be reached for comment. Underdog dismissed any idea of taking over as Pasadena's mayor. "Why would I want to go from super hero to super fool?" he said.

Enjoy Wayne, we're back at it.
