Results R In and YAWN

Gordo won by 9-1. Holden won against nobody. Woman cop and planning commish get another whack at each other.

School Board? Who gives a f*ck about them losers?

Planning commish who got to say no to all the stuff nobody likes but didn't fights it out with first femme police chief of LA County. He can't find east Pas and sure not my NW hood. She knows police shit. Another old white guy or a woman cop?

'nuff said.

I'll take the woman cop.

Having observed both, I will take Tornek.

Tornek is too connected. A fresh voice and fresh prospective would be a welcome change.

District 7 *so* deserves Tornek...this is the same guy during the forum at BHS said he didn't want staff to follow what "their friends in Sacramento said...but to do what District 7 needs". Yep - that's what we need - a guy that is going to get our City sued because he asks staff to disregard state law.

Be careful what you ask for - it won't just be him sitting up at the Dais - but that HUGE ego of his....better get two chairs.

And East District 7 - Gary says "no one listens to the east side of District 7" - here's a news flash - no one ever will - you don't vote. District 7 is always represented by someone from Madison Heights and always will - they get out and vote.

Tornek is "too connected" to Pasadena? That makes no sense -- you'd rather have someone who is deep with Los Angeles connections instead? This ain't Los Angeles. Which one will be more sympthetic to the overly large, sacred, public safety budget and their unions and which one will be willing to cut it where it needs to be cut? To be fair, it is hard to say which of them has the bigger ego.

Bets are that this race will be much closer than than the March 10th election. We'll see.

I can't wait for the 2011 race in District 1 again. That was hot. Bets are that Robinson gets defeated if she runs for re-election. Big disappointment there. Biggest question is who's going to run against her if shes runs or who is going to run period. Some names are circulating as possibilities and alliances are being formed. Can't wait for that one.

District 4 & 6 seats will probably hinge on what Mayor Bogaard does in 2011. If he runs for re-election as expected, Haderlein and Madison will probably stay put.
If Mayor Bogaard retires then it will be a free for all with Holden also in the hunt. Watch for Bill Thomson, Bill Paparian, Guido Meindel, Victor Gordo to also as rumored enter the fray. Talk is of some rich outsider entering as a longshot darkhorse populist candidate that people know but I haven't tracked down the name yet. No ones talking. This one will as hot as District 1.

Fireworks for sure in 2011.

Anonymous at 6:02pm,

While the District 7 runoff race may be closer, it will be extremely difficult for York to catch Tornek. Just based on numbers, if the same voters show up on April 21st, Tornek needs only 53 votes out of the 480 votes cast for the losing candidates, or only 11% of the votes "up for grabs", to win.

If only 3/4 of the "up for grabs" 480 voters show up and they all vote for York, Tornek still wins.

A tough margin to overcome by York.

ya know all the bets are against Robinson stuff is so lame, we all know who is pushing that agenda.

I will never vote for RH over Robinson, partly based on the juvenile behavior I have seen in here.

Henderson will win District 1 in 2011. No one else has any chance of winning or deserves to win. No one else has done as much for the community as Henderson.

The RH shills are completely delusional; RH only got 23% of the vote 2 years ago and ended up with only 367 votes out of the 1,652 cast that year.

That isn’t exactly a mandate or a “squeaker” - it never even got close between him and JR - just because you fell entitled to something - doesn’t mean it is yours.

I hope D1 does comes around and elects a stronger, less stoned-looking representative - but the Council will already have it’s hands full with Tornek and Madison’s egos to manage RH’s ego.

Those RH shills are indeed completely dilusional. He didn't even come close in the first election so how does he figure on being the "guy" in 2011? With the exception of a few in the district no one thinks very highly of him. Why Bill Bogaard was supporting RH he only knows. Fact is that JR has been a total disappointment to the community as well as the district. TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. Obviously it was more than she bargained for. It is also obvious that her council colleagues have little or no regard for her. That makes for 2011 to be the hot election. The other factor that nobody is mentioning is Salazar. He shocked the hell out of many of us with his showing and has been a strong voice in word and action in the community. With his Lemonade Crusade and NAACP award he has proven his dedication to us. If he runs I believe he'll be the immediate frontrunner and RH will not be a factor at all. We don't know of Salazars intentions but he'll get even more of the Black vote next time. People like him.

The other factor that RH is forgetting is what about the other Black candidates who will run? Michelle Bailey, Clarence Nelson, Charles Nelson, Helga Kuhn and I've heard that Berlinda Brown may also run if Salazar doesn't. The Black vote will be split again and RH won't be the top vote getter. everything is hinging on what Salazar does and they say he isn't talking. Saying that, all you RH shills stop the trash talking because it only makes you look desperate and stop knocking JR because that won't get you votes. Even though JR has done a poor job for us she would beat RH rather easily.

Yeah RH can forget about it, the guy only talks about one thing - himself. As far as JR, she has not been stellar - but I dont believe she has been as bad as her critics state either.
